WHO WE ARE
TRGF is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) working with and through the rural and remote populations in South Sudan in general and in particular in the rural remote areas of Akobo in Jonglei State, Upper Nile State, and Unity State, the Administration Areas (Ruweng, Pibor and Abyei) and in Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal State. The organization was established in 2021 and registered in January 2022 by Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) in Juba.
TRGF is a multi-sector organization currently focusing on primary health care services provision especially targeting Trachoma Trichiasis and cataracts surgeries and awareness raising prevention and WASH. The foundation was established as a humanitarian body to advance the work that was started by Mr. Tuach Riek Gai whose work was based on supporting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community to raise hope among the disadvantaged children. Therefore, the purpose of this organization is to improve the general livelihoods of our communities, better the living conditions of the street children, women, youth, IDPs, widows, elderly and children with special needs (children living with disabilities), etc.
In 2022 TRGF embarked health programme through the trachoma and cataracts elimination programme throughout Jonglei and Unity State. This marked the starting point for our organization before we could spread to other locations in Upper Nile and the Administration Areas of Ruweng’, Pibor and Abyei, and also in other sectors of intervention.
